My Passion
My interest in content creation sparked at a very young age. At ten years old I received my first smartphone, this allowed me to start my venture into the media industry. Through using free apps I was able to compile short clips of my friends, from my mums martial arts school, and play them over music before uploading them to the internet. My only goal was to hope that my videos would entertain people as much as I enjoyed making them.

I have been into sports my whole life, taking part competitively in numerous different disciplines. After an ongoing injury related to cycling stopped me from competing, I turned to media as a way for me to stay involved in something that I have dedicated many hours of my life into.
Throughout my years competing, no matter the sport, one of my favourite past times would always be waiting for recap videos to be released. There was always a sense of joy in seeing yourself compete, or watching back a moment that you have missed from the professionals. Hearing an interview within these videos would help break down the two dimensional barrier, allowing the audience to see more than someone in a sports kit trying to win.

Inspiration
My main inspiration for the work I produce comes from the 'National BMX highlight videos' created by Corinne Walder. I have always had a passion divided between photography and video content. However, the feeling after a race weekend finished, waiting for Corinne to release her video. Interviewing riders old, young, elite and amateur. The feeling from the whole weekend was captured within the space of five minutes. This fueled my need to replicate that impact within my own videos.

Upon being given the role of creating content for the HSBC UK National BMX Series, the event organizers wanted a change from their live stream that had taken place the last three years. They asked me to create a five minute recap video that captures the atmosphere of the weekend. My instant thought was to go back and watch the videos created by Corinne for inspiration.

Education
Upon leaving school and making the transition to college, I decided that media is a subject I wanted to take seriously, choosing to study this for my A - Levels. Media A-level was a wide subject, focusing mainly on the syllabus not allowing us to use our creative sides. This restriction in the content I produced in college only fulled my interest more, to learn and develop my understanding of the industry.

I am currently studying BAHons Television And Radio production, at the university of Salford. I find the course well suited to my style of work, it allows me to practice my creativity whilst following industry standard practices. The content I produce on the course is met to such a high standard, due to the experience of the lecturers and being based in MediaCity UK, this opens me up to a world of professional interactions.

Future
My choice to follow editing and camera work come through my attitude to constantly improve. There is endless ways to edit together video, and even more ways to capture each clip. This notion that there is always a way that I could "do it better next time" resonates throughout everything I do. It pushes me to research, practice and learn the technology in my own time, in hopes that if I understand how the equipment works I can get one step closer to achieving the vision that I see in my head.
FILMOGRAPHY
The films selected are from throughout my whole life, each one shows a different stage of my journey in becoming a content creator. From my first video ever made, all the way through to my latest.

This was the first video I had ever filmed and edited on my phone. It is a 'form' at my mums martial arts school, filmed from two different angles, put together over some music. It signified the start of my interest in content creation

As I started to get into cycling I was fascinated by the extreme nature and took it upon myself to make a short video trying to capture this. For this i purchased a GoPro, the first camera I ever bought dedicated to video.
November 2015
This was shown at an awards night for a BMX club. None of the content filmed was done by me it had all been sent to me, my role was to edit this all together. Making me think for the first time, that I may want to pursue a career in editing.
